Party Ideas

Jump into the New Normal

Positive side of lockdown home-schooling

As schools reopen and we return to our ‘New Normal’ world, we’ve put together some helpful tips and ideas for the new school year. We understand the importance of celebrating our children’s birthdays and want to help you do it safely and comfortably.

“New Normal” parties

We’ve partnered with London’s top entertainers to help you throw epic birthdays in safe numbers, in your garden or in the park. A lot of parties are now happening outdoors in groups of 6 children – adventure racing, scavenger hunts, music & dance for the little ones. Party venues are also able to host birthday activities in small numbers. Or why not book two groups of 6 children, one after the other? The birthday child gets to experience the activity twice. Head over to our Party entertainment section to discover more ideas.

Sharky & George parties are always a lot of fun!

Virtual parties

The launch of our Virtual Party offer was a direct response to the lockdown as we realised that many of our little heroes wouldn’t be able to have the parties that they look forward to every year. We also wanted to help our community of independent entertainers whose livelihoods were impacted and our charity partners who could no longer receive the same level of support at a time when their services were needed the most. The Virtual Party portal is a way of connecting parents and entertainers, making it easy to organise a special celebration.

Nowadays, virtual parties are a great way to connect with family and friends overseas, and the only safe way to organise large events, whether for children, adults or for charity fundraising events.

How to throw a virtual event

We hope that by now many parents have overcome their tech phobias with all of the homeschooling, zoom meetings, and generally trying to keep children engaged. If you are still a little unsure, don’t worry! Take a look at the virtual party guide we’ve created to provide some inspiration and help you navigate the logistics.

Creating a virtual event is super easy. All you need to do is select the “Virtual Event” option on your invitation and then insert the link from your Video host (Zoom, Skype etc).

Your guests will appreciate your thoughtful invitation and the convenience of having all the party details in one place, integrated with their calendar, ready to hit Go.

Autumn is here …

Temperatures are dropping and while we all wish for an Indian summer, autumn is on its way. With it come the falling leaves, cozy sweaters and welly boots on the wetter days!

We all need a little inspiration on how to keep the kids busy and socially distanced at the same time. Autumn is the perfect time for being outdoors, exploring the nature and enjoying the colours all around. If you’re looking for ideas, here is a great article, ‘Jumping in Leaves’, with some outdoors activities for children. It’s the perfect fun for Fall! If the weather is too wet, bring the fun indoors with these creative Nature Inspired Activities.

Trick or Eat?

All Trick, No Treat. How about giving instead?

This year we are sacking the sweets! With the looming uncertainty of what Halloween will entail, our thoughts are with those who would choose a good meal over a sweet treat. Encourage your school or nursery to have the children dress up on Friday, 30th October and contribute a small donation or non perishable food item to your local food bank.

One last laugh…

“What did the Leaf say to Autumn?” “I’m …

Falling for You!
